Plant the seed of a scientific mind.

Sci-Seedlets, developed at the University of Glasgow, is an all-in-one-box kit that turns plant biology into a hands-on adventure for primary school pupils. Over five weeks, children swap textbooks for real experiments – growing, measuring, testing, and discovering like real scientists.

Every kit is built for inclusive learning, with resources designed to engage children of all abilities and interests, and comes ready for teachers to use straight away – no science background needed, no hours of prep. Inside: pupil worksheets, experiment setups, and online resources including a first-of-its-kind virtual lab game where children explore real plant science from their screens.

Backed by research from the University of Glasgow and initially funded by UKRI, the University, and the Royal Society, Sci-Seedlets is already helping teachers across Scotland bring authentic scientific discovery into their classrooms as well as teamwork, problem-solving and data collection.

Your donation helps put a kit directly into a classroom. It could spark a lifelong love of science in a child – maybe even the child who one day helps solve crop security or climate change.
